During class last week, we read the Ed/Op article called "Hub rules drive cabbies down rough road" Review this article (in the file links on the website) and consider the following:
1. A good piece of persuasive writing should inspire action on the part of the reader. Do you think that the writer of this article has inspired you to get involved in solving this problem? How?
2. A solution offered by a writer should somehow improve the situation. Will the solution offered by the author improve the situation with cab drivers and service? In what ways will it?

1. I think not because It didn't start off to get people to like the article. But after a while it talks about money and complaints especially from African-Americans about poor taxi fares.
2. I think they should go with her idea. To get an Private Operative to get evidence about what they costumers complain about.

I didn't get the article or what poit it was trying to prove.
1.I think the author was trying to catch the reader attention. Writer explain all the issue and when you read this article it make you feel as though you wanted to do something about it. So i do think that it make you get inspired when reading the article.
2.I think that the writers solution will work to make a difference in the issue. I think this because the solution was that like they will have to have a clean record on there licenses they have to be able to treat all customers equal.
I wouldn't say inspired but the author has gave me a problem that I didn't know about. Nobody told me that taxi drivers wanted to have the freedom and the choice to pick their customers. In a way no, and in a way yes. The reasons why I say no is because if they give the taxi drivers the choice to pick their customers then the people who really need the taxi would suffer. There was a part where the author said that if they gave the taxi drivers the choice to pick customers then the new drivers would take their place. That wouldn't work because then the new drivers would want to get the same choice. I think that the drivers should suck-it-up and do their jobs. What if Deval Patrick only choose to run for the black people and not the hispanic? What if the president only ran for Rich people and not poor? Everybody has a job the they don't like one thing about, but they suck-it-up and try to make it fun.
Yes because he said, a piece of writing should inspire the reader. That's telling me that he might do that. It might because the solution that the author made. Might actually make the change.
Yea i do think people who read this and are strongly interested in it would take action. I think this article would inspire many people to get involved. This can inspire people to take action because some people are against racism and to find that it is happening all over again and history is repeating itself will shock many an want to put a stop to it. The author's proposal is if cabbies want to opt out of the burden of serving the whole city, let them, but create "no medallion" zones out of undeserved neighborhoods so that any licensed driver with a clean record could fill the gap left by existing cab owners. yes I think the writer inspired me because I at first I didn't know what was going on and now I know and also it inspired me because if cab drivers are discriminate aganist neighborhoods and who the want in their cabs I think that not fair people should be able to get a cab no matter what neighborhood they live in, and so that's telling me if I need in a bad neighborhood I cant even get a decent cab to get from one place to another. I don't really understand the question but the solutions the writer might work
1. Yes it has kinda inspired me to get involved because it involves a race ir culture of people being descriminated against over nothing just because that person was somebody outside what that other person reconizes.
i think that they shouldnt do that i think that they can possibly get more money if they travel all over the place.i think yes i would try to get involved with this to solve the problem and try to make them go everywhere around boston.

but some of these drivers are scared to drive to the ghetto because the people be having guns just to get a free ride where they want.also some of the people run before they pay the driver and the driver cannot do anything..
